Series 1:
Based in ancient Egypt, a royal scribe named Amenei marries the love of his life Shukura, born from a noble family. Enjoying the blissful stages of marriage, it is no secret that the newlyweds are at different levels of consciousness. Amenei is a warm and gentle man, whilst Shukura is cunning and status driven. With beliefs steeped in tradition, there is an expectation of Egyptian women to produce children for their husbands in order to prove his fertility, so that he would be favoured well and rise higher in status. Shukura knows only too well what her priorities are; to create a perfect family. As time passes by and with no signs of an heir on the way, Shukura decides to take control of her fate, but will the outcome be in her favour?
